Event Honors Industry Leaders, Showcases Exceptional Student Designers and Features a Special Fashion Show

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 11, 2015 – The MAIN Event Summer Drive-In brings the Detroit design community together at the Lawrence Technological University (LTU) Southfield Campus (21000 West 10 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48075). This invitation-only event recognizes industry executives, showcases student design work, and features Detroit fashion on the runway. Special thanks to The Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Human Solutions and Lawrence Technological University.

This June we come together to honor Ford GT, Lincoln and Camaro with feature spots in the day’s agenda as well as representation from classic car enthusiasts. The program features lunch and then afternoon presentations from Eric Shreffler (MEDC), Colin Bonathan (Ford GT), Lindsey Grant (Lincoln Interiors), Hwasup Lee (Camaro), Chris Theodore (T&A President), Adam Bazydlo (Ford PD Design – Keynote).

The evening program begins with a User Experience Panel Discussion featuring Larry Smythe (Nissan), Dave Mitropoulos-Rundus (Hyundai), Jason Diehl (General Motors), Dan Vandersluis (Faurecia) and Emilio Felicanio (Fiat, Chrysler Automobiles).

Other features include the Ford GT-Inspired Boat concept by Adam Bazydlo and a classic car exhibition. In addition, the LTU Transportation Design and Industrial Design programs will be showcased at the event in the main gallery; the collection includes the best work from both Junior and Senior classes.

The Detroit Fashion Week (DFW) runway show caps off our evening. This summer’s runway features, Lilacpop Studios, The Paper Dress Code, Ashley Harris Design, Bridget Sullivan Design, MP Fashion, Marsa Alam and J.Patricia. As the fashion show concludes, all in attendance are invited to join us for cocktails and networking into the evening hours.

The Motorcity Automotive Industry Night (MAIN) Event serves as a welcome and homecoming to Detroit for all automotive professionals. The invitation-only event’s purpose is to recognize the professional communi­ty, feature concepts from students of Lawrence Technological University, and serve as a mem­orable and celebratory summer occasion for those in industry.
