Mila Pershyna is a fashion designer and entrepreneur who manage her own fashion line. The core of Mila Pershyna’s fashion philosophy is timeless style and versatile design; her goal is to create quality pieces that are fashionable and elegant, yet functional and comfortable.
Mila Pershyna was born in Grodno, Belarus, and moved to the United States at the age of 20. Her interest in fashion was sparked at an early age; as a young girl she would make paper dolls and dress them up. This hobby progressed into a more professional skill as Mila began to create clothes for her friends.Soon after moving to Michigan, Mila began her journey into the fashion world with experience in apparel retailing and an internship with the world-renowned Diane von Furstenberg.
Mila’s skills and creativity have earned her two finalist spots in the American Sewing Expo “Passion for Fashion” live sewing and design contest – earning 3rd place in 2012 – as well as invitations to participate in both the Detroit Fashion Week, FID and Cincinnati Fashion Weeks.
Fashion lovers will enjoy pieces that are unique, fun and easy to wear; asymmetrical elements and draping of the garments offers a fresh and edgy twist on classic fashions. Mila Pershyna believes that women should always look and feel beautiful, regardless of their responsibilities!
While completing her MA in Fashion Design and Merchandising at Wayne State University, Mila wrote her master’s essay on contemporary maternity wear. Considering her own experience and extended study she found the need for fashionable, transitional outerwear and sportswear that allows going from pregnancy to post-pregnancy and vice versa. To cover the gap in maternity fashion, Mila turned her focus towards creating a contemporary fashion line for expecting mothers that is versatile, functional and feminine. Pregnancycan be the best time of a woman’s fashion life, and modern maternity styles make it possible for expectant mothers to dress fashionably and comfortably without giving up their lifestyle.
